  • Overview

    Our GIS Analysts use state of the art technology to collect, manage, interpret, and utilize GIS data from a variety of sources for an assortment of applications in the energy industry.


    Typical job responsibilities include:

    • Locate, map, attribute, and track parcels, leases, drilling units, ROW, etc.
    • Understand and apply basic cartographic principles
    • Utilize available data to create accurate, inclusive reports and high quality maps
    • Convert data between various file types
    • Coordinate geometry and decipher legal descriptions
    • Retrieve, read, and interpret information from technical sources
    • Work with staff in other departments to meet individual, client and company objectives.


    The GIS Analyst position typically appeals to people who have 2 years of experience and/or coursework in mapping and GIS software, preferably ArcGIS, are familiar with basic cartographic principles, Geodatabase design, structure, and management and have experience using GIS applications. 

    However, if you are comfortable with computers and maps – and willing to learn - we can teach you what you need to know!  Other applicable backgrounds may be IT, Graphic Design, Statistics, Accounting or Economics.

    Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook is desired, in addition to possessing strong typing and problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
