  • Overview

    The Project Manager will work in concert with the Land Manager to complete small and large scale lease buying projects, and manage client needs, procure work through new and existing clients, and lead employees.

     

    This position will be based out of Sheridan, WY but will require weekly travel to the Minot, ND office.

    Responsibilities

    • Makes independent decisions within established parameters on how best to approach land owners and proceed with lease negotiation
    • Provides direction and guidance to staff on decisions related to the performance and execution of project objectives.
    • Meets with client representatives to provide project updates, discuss project timetables and work parameters.
    • Assists Land Agents as needed in meetings with landowners to conduct lease negotiations.
    • Represents the Company or the client at landowner meetings, government agency reviews and public hearings.
    • Provides reports to senior management and client representatives on the status of negotiations and executed lease agreements
    • Makes work assignments to project team members
    • Makes employment related decisions including hiring, termination, performance evaluations and recommendations concerning compensation
    • Engages current and prospective clients to further develop relationships in the pursuit of future

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of Land experience in oil and gas with a preference for Rockies oil and gas plays
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Demonstrated success in leading teams and coordinating work assignments in accordance with project timelines
    • Ability to prioritize and organization work in order to meet project deadlines
    • Ability to gain the trust of Clients and landowners to facilitate the lease negotiation process
    • High level of professionalism and ethical standards
    • Significant travel and work outside normal business hours may be required to visit other office locations, and travel to the project areas
    • Ability to travel to land owner residences or other agreed upon meeting locations
    • Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office software including Exchange, Work and Excel.  Ability to create and maintain information database, spreadsheets, and text documents.
    • Member of the AAPL who may  possess the CPL or RPL certification
