  • Overview

    This individual will provide guidance, consultation, and direction regarding employee relations, performance management, development, staffing needs, and organizational changes to Western Land staff. Develops strong relationships within all levels of the organization and helps promote the integration of HR programs across the organization consistent with Company philosophies.


    The position will be based out of either our Oklahoma City, OK or Duncan, OK office, depending on the needs of the candidate.


    • Point of HR contact for employee and management questions and concerns
    • Assists in implementation of HR programs
    • Manages day to day benefits program transactions including new enrollment, open enrollment, and COBRA
    • Leads recruiting efforts in Mid Con division to help meet company demands
    • Assists employees with all general employment related concerns
    • Counsels management on front line employee relations issues involing recruiting, disciplinary actions, FMLA, ADAAA, FLSA, and other state and federal requirements.
    • Identifies and solve organizational development needs
    • Provides coaching to employees as appropriate
    • Trains employees and managers on HR related topics
    • Other related duties as assigned


    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or requisite experience
    • Minimum of 3 years’ HR Generalist experience, preferably in a position with both field and corporate exposure.
    • Strong working knowledge of HR principles and practices
    • Knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to employment
    • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Previous recruitment experience of both exempt and non-exempt positions
    • Previous experience with Applicant Tracking systems 
    • PHR or SPHR certification preferred, or SHRM equivalent
